Institutional Registration Automation
Transformed a manual 20-step registration process into a streamlined digital workflow. Designed a 5-step online form and internal approval system that enables public institutions to register through guided digital steps instead of Excel files and collaboration agreements.
Challenge
ChileCompra's manual registration process created bottlenecks—limited staff capacity to handle requests within the required 20-day timeframe, leading to delays and inconsistent service
The institutions send a request to ChileCompra to be part of Mercado Público
The institutions fills an Excel file that acts as a form to obtain their data
Both parties sign a collaboration agreement

Capacity to manage registrations
As it is a manual process, in the event of receiving a large number of requests, there would not be the resources available to respond to the requests in the required time.
ChileCompra established period: 20 business days
The period established by the ChileCompra to process the registration of a new institution is 20 business days from the sending of the official request by the institution that wants to register into the platform.
Process
Conducted usability testing with institutions to validate content clarity, interface design, and end-to-end process flow. Iterated based on feedback to ensure the form effectively communicated required steps and information.

Impact
Achieved 6.4/7 user satisfaction score in validation testing. Solution includes both citizen-facing registration form and internal request management system for ChileCompra staff to validate, approve, or reject applications.
